Getting engaged is fun, but asking your favorite ladies to be by your side is even more fun. James popped the question and now it was my turn! I had so much fun planning my bridesmaid proposal boxes. I even started them THREE months before I gave them to anyone. Of course being the ever conscious money-spender that I am, I did it all on a budget.
Now you can go the full glam route and buy the cute pre-made boxes and cards. However, I went the Thrifty-Shelly route (there’s still a wedding to pay for right?!).
Spoiler Alert: They all said yes!

What I Included in My BridesMaid Proposal Boxes
Each box was filled with the following:
- Confetti
- Flowers
- A Candle
- Nail-polish
- A bathbomb
- A bracelet
- Bridal Tee
- Mini bottle of Italian Prosecco
- A Bride Squad Glass to drink said Prosecco
- And lastly a card popping the question!
Where to get items for Bridesmaid Proposal Boxes on the cheap?!

Dollar Tree
The Dollar Tree – is your friend, trust me on this. I walked out with 2 packages of 3 foldable gift boxes. While there, I also got 6 bags of confetti, 6 candles, and 6 bottles of nail-polish. The candles were a delicious “blushing wine” scent, that I’m convinced I need to get more of for myself. To decorate the boxes I grabbed a ball of twine and three bundles of flowers. For my junior bridesmaid, I added an adorable faux-pearl headband, and lip balm! All of that was a whopping $26.
Hamrick’s, Amazon & Total Wine
At my local Hamrick’s, I scored a package of 8 bath-bombs for $5. Searching through Amazon, I found a package of 6 “I Can’t Tie the Knot Without You” Bracelets for just $16.99. The mini-bottles of Prosecco I picked up at Total Wine were only $17, and mind you I only bought 5! No booze for the jr. bridesmaid.
Facebook MarketPlace & Etsy
While scrolling through Facebook Marketplace, I came across a bride selling extra Bride Squad Glasses that she didn’t need. She had to purchase a couple sets in order to fill her boxes, and ended up with extras. For $5 I managed to get 5 pink Bride Squad glasses and 1 white Bride Squad Glass. Another instance where I didn’t get one for the jr. bridesmaid as she wasn’t going to be drinking any Prosecco.

However, the one item that cost the most was the Bridal Tee. Off to Etsy I went, and spent $79 on shirts for my Bridal Party and a Bride tee for me! It was really important to me to buy the tees for the girls. I didn’t want them to have to buy them later on for a bachelorette party and deal with that expense. Now that expense is already taken care of!

Canva
Last but not least, the proposal cards. Instead of purchasing pre-made proposal cards off amazon/etsy – I decided to make my own personalized cards. I’m a big fan of Canva, which is where I made my Save The Dates, and used this website to design my one of a kind proposal cards! This was one of my favorite pieces of the bridesmaid proposal box because I was able to personalize each card to the person. A trip to my local UPS store to have them printed out only set me back $3.46.
Total Cost
My total damage for all of my Bridesmaid Proposal Boxes was only $152.45. I spent roughly $150 for 6 bridesmaid proposal boxes, and managed to get myself a Bridal Tee and Bride Squad glass. Considering that I had to make these boxes for six ladies, I was quite pleased with myself. I put everything in the boxes, tied it with twine and a bow & wrote their names on the boxes. All in all I was really happy with how the boxes came out for only $25 a person.

I was really lucky that all of my bridesmaids except two were able to attend our Engagement Party and I was able to ask them in person. My remaining two bridesmaids, my already sister, but future sister-in-law, and future niece couldn’t make it. BUT, James’ mom was visiting them the following week and graciously took their boxes with her!
